Derwent Art Prize

Entries for the 2022 Derwent Art Prize has now closed (Tues, 4th January 2022, at 5pm GMT)

Created in 2012, the Derwent Art Prize showcases the very best 2D & 3D work created in pencil by artists around the world.

 

🏆 There will be $17,000 (£12,500) in prizes, including a First Prize of $5,500 (£4,000) plus a year’s supply of Derwent products.

 

The selected artworks will be shown in an exhibition at the OXO Gallery, in central London, from 24 February to 6 March 2022.

 

The judging panel includes artist Charmaine Watkiss and Paul Hobson, Director of Modern Art Oxford.

 

✏️ The Derwent Art Prize accepts works in black or coloured pencil as well as water soluble, pastel, graphite and charcoal.

Prizes totaling over *$17,000 (£12,500) will be awarded in a private awards ceremony on the opening night of the exhibition, including:

  • First Prize: $5,500 (£4,000) plus a year’s supply of Derwent prdocuts

  • Second Prize: $2,700 (£2,000) and a box of Derwent Lightfast Pencils

  • People’s Choice Award: Over $650 (£500)

*All prize amounts dependent on £ to $ conversion rate.
